2015 - off to a flying start

As the title suggests, the year is starting on a high note at Crafty Gifts & Cards.

Crochet Class #2 kicked off to a fab start with my new ladies getting to grips with chain & treble crochet stitches. No photos yet - I didn't want to scare them off.....!!
But that's not all.... I'm pleased to say that Crochet Class #3 is now full. That means that there may even be a class #4 in the pipeline....
Oooo, exciting......!!

It's not just the passing on of skills, but the social side is so important too. Class #1 became good friends & regularly keep in touch with their makes & lives.
Long may this 'new' tradition live on.
Another plus point is that I'm becoming more organised. My first classes were done 'on the hoof'' with us randomly deciding on what to learn & what to make from week to week. This time I've devised lesson plans with pictures of the stitches, abbreviations & details - & a copy for the girls to take home each week.
I've got a better idea of what I'd like to teach at each lesson but it's flexible so we can all learn at a comfortable speed.

Another lovely event planned is "Crochet Class #1 Reunion". By popular demand, my #1 ladies want to come back & do a class where we can show what we've made, learn some more advanced stitches & have a general catch up.
This is pencilled in for March 3rd.

Here's a quick update on what's been made or ordered in December....
Newlyweds Christmas Tag

Cwtsh cushion
A mini Christmas stocking for Oscar
All packed & ready for delivery.

I've even been thinking about Christmas 2015..!!
I'm hoping to make some tea light holders so I'm saving my jam jars ready to decorate.

I've ordered a book that's full of fab felt decorations as well.

But for the moment, I'm concentrating on the coming Spring & made this sweet flowers bunting using super fine baby yarn in mixed shades of pink, blue, lemon & mint.... pretty..!!

There may be news of a crochet related event coming up but I haven't received all the details as yet so I'm keeping it under wraps for the time being.
More info soon - I hope.....!!

Take care everyone
Happy New Year
